I think everybody who knows and uses a computer mouse must also know what is called the Scroll Wheel. According to Wikipedia, the scroll wheel can be interpreted as a small hard plastic or rubbery disc on a computer mouse that is located protruding from the surface of the mouse, normally in the middle between the left and right mouse buttons.
In use, we usually use the scroll wheel to increase or decrease the page open program by pressing and holding the scroll wheel. Well, here will be revealed 5 other functions of Scroll Mouse that I got from one source at a community portal which is certainly the largest Indonesian supplemented with a few changes / input from me. Right away, while the other functions are:
- Quickly close the browser tab, while surfing with browser tabs open and want to close it, usually things that you do is point the mouse cursor to mark X in the upper right to close the tab. You can more quickly close the browser tab using the mouse scroll. The trick is as follows: Press the mouse scroll in your browser tab regardless of location, then the browser will be closed quickly. You do not have to point your mouse and click on the "X", just click the mouse scroll in any part of your browser tabs. Save time instead??
- Open a new tab, when you are browsing and want to open a link in a new tab, then usually you do that by right clicking the link and choose "open in new tab". You can do it faster by clicking the link using mouse scroll. Simply press the scroll mouse on the link you want, then the link will automatically open in a new tab. Greatly save time
- Opening the bookmark collection of links at once, if you have a site - favorite sites frequently visited or want to visit every day, so usually you do click on one at the site link in your bookmarks. However, there was a quicker way is by clicking on a bookmark folder with a scroll mouse. So automatically all links to your favorite websites in the folder will open entirely automatically. You do not need to open one by one, as if the large number of bookmarks you will take a lot of time. Scroll your mouse to accelerate all
- Automatically scroll the document or page you are viewing, if you open a web page or a long document in programs - programs such as Word, Excel, Adobe Reader, Firefox or Internet Explorer, then to do the scrolling, you usually do by rotating the scroll mouse with finger. However, if the page is very long then it will make your fingers become sore. To avoid it, simply click and hold your mouse scroll button briefly. Then you will be entered in autoscroll feature where you can move and make scrolling the page you are viewing with a little moving the mouse without having to rotate - scroll knob. Your fingers will not be sore because it opens a very, very long documents
- Organize large-small font on the browser, you just need to press the CTRL key on your keyboard and then press and roll (scrolling) up and down, then the browser font will be adjusted
However, one thing that should be a concern is if you are a user of the Microsoft Mouse Operating System Windows Vista or Windows 7 and have installed the Intelli Point program on your computer, the first four functions above (except the fifth function number) by pressing the Scroll Wheel will not works. Because, this activity will activate Flip 3D feature default Windows Vista / 7 by default. To disable it, you must turn off the scroll wheel function of the first with access to Start >> Control Panel >> Mouse (if Classic View) / Hardware & Sound (If the default view) >> Tab >> Change Wheel Button Button into your function like (other than Flip 3D) or Disable it.
